About Alzheimer's Disease
Currently there are an estimated 3.1 million Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients in the US and 26 million worldwide: however, these numbers are expected to quadruple by 2050 unless more effective prevention and or treatment measures can be put in place.

Every 72 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer’s (430,000 cases). This annual number is growing rapidly as the population ages. The resulting total economic cost of AD care in the US is estimated to be over $100 billion. Yet 40% of AD cases are missed every year, delaying therapeutic intervention and increasing care costs. It has also been demonstrated that current and emerging therapies are more effective the earlier the disease is detected.
Clearly, there is a need for an AD diagnostic test that is accurate, cost-effective, and capable of early detection.
